American Legion Post 20 Meeting April 9 to Honor Vietnam Veterans and Legendary Vietnam Journalist
Vietnam veterans will be honored at the April 9 luncheon meeting of American Legion Post 20, which is affiliated with the National Press Club. The meeting will take place at noon in the McClendon Room. The guest speaker will be Major General Edward J. Chrystal, Jr., director of the United States Vietnam War Commemoration. MG Chrystal will have pins for Vietnam veterans. On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress authorized the creation of a naval force, and the upcoming meeting of American Legion Post 20 looks ahead to the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy. The luncheon meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 11 at noon in the McClendon Room at the National Press Club. Political History Curator to Discuss 2024 Campaign and Election at American Legion Meeting
Dr. Claire Jerry, curator of the Division of Political History with the National Museum of American History, plans to discuss the 2024 election season at the next meeting of American Legion Post 20. Dr. Jerry will address how the museum recorded and interpreted the events of the 2024 electoral season and how those events are reflected in exhibits. The luncheon meeting takes place at noon on Wednesday, February 12 in the McClendon Room at the National Press Club. All Press Club members are invited.
