Meeting

On October 13, 1775, the Continental Congress authorized the creation of a naval force, and the upcoming meeting of American Legion Post 20 looks ahead to the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy. The luncheon meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 11 at noon in the McClendon Room at the National Press Club. The guest speaker will be Dale Eng, with the Communication and Outreach Division of the Naval History and Heritage Command.

Post 20 has been affiliated with the National Press Club for more than a century. The post was formed at the urging of famed World War I General John J. Pershing, who was an associate member of the club at the time. All Press Club members are invited to Post 20 meetings.
