It’s mid-July, and triple-digit temperatures are baking the D.C. area. How to cope? Make the best of it by enjoying the Club’s Summer BBQ Buffet in the Reliable Source tonight, Thursday, July 18. Besides the spread of summer barbecue favorites, the event will feature music performed by the Greater U Street Jazz Collective. The National Press Club's Photography Team will hear how chefs create cuisine to be more visually interesting and attractive in its next meeting, open to all Club members, on Wednesday, July 24, at 12 noon in the Cosgrove Lounge. Hard as it may be to believe, the summer is fleeting, and August is approaching. But the Reliable Source restaurant is ready for it with another busy month of events. The Club’s popular watering hole has announced its August schedule, headlined by one of its most well-received events, its annual Crab Fest. Scholarship Team seeks judges for Fall 2024 Lewis Scholarship applicants
The National Press Club Scholarships Team is recruiting working journalists to help judge applications for the Fall 2024 Lewis Scholarship. Judging will be conducted virtually via Zoom over a two-hour period the morning of Saturday, Aug. 3. Judges will review application materials the week prior to the Aug. 3 meeting, then rank candidates as a group that day. The Lewis Scholarship provides free housing and a monthly stipend to support student journalists of color who plan to intern at news media outlets in Washington, D.C. — an estimated value of $10,000.
