Wexler publishes first book on journalism in crisis

National Press Club Member Celia Wexler has published her first book, "Out of the News: Former Journalists Discuss a Profession in Crisis."

The book has many NPC ties, including a mention of the Reliable Source, where she spent many hours interviewing her subjects, Wexler said.

The 11 journalists profiled, who worked at news organizations including The Washington Post, New York Times and CNN, "have led rich lives and have much to say about journalism, its past, present and future," Wexler said.

Reviewers have called the book a “compelling narrative … that underscores and illuminates the challenging media environment” and “a primer for those who care about sustaining our democracy,” written with “great insight and empathy–and timeliness…”
