April 3, 1915: Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan makes one of the first transcontinental calls from the Club.

April 3, 1999: The National Press Club celebrates its ninetieth anniversary with a gala event in the Club ballroom

April 6, 2010: News Corp. Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch shares his perspectives on the future of journalism and the media with Marvin Kalb on The Kalb Report, which had been rescheduled because of the February blizzard.

April 7, 1989: Actress Audrey Hepburn reports on her recent trip to Africa as goodwill ambassador for UNICEF. Club luncheons have provided opportunities for many stars, such as Angelina Jolie, Celeste Holm, and George Clooney, to speak about their volunteer work for numerous worthy causes.
