Silver Owls to honor former Club presidents on April 26

The "long, gray line" of former National Press Club and Washington Press Club presidents will be honored at the April 26 Silver Owls "hoot" in the Ballroom.

The event will salute the 32 surviving ex-presidents of the NationalPress Club and 10 surviving ex-presidents of the old WPC, which merged with the NPC in 1985.

John Eaton, the great jazz pianist and one of the legendary interpreters of American popular music, will entertain. Eaton -- who regularly performs and lectures at such venues as the Smithsonian Institution's Performing Arts jazz series, the Kool Jazz Festival, and
Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts -- is an old friend of the Silver Owls, the organization of National Press Club members who have belonged to the organization for 25 or more years. He is a past recipient of their highest honor, the Order of the Owl.

The April 26 event will begin with a 6:30 p.m. reception and a 7:30 p.m. dinner and program.
