Runners/walkers: Join the Press Club team for the *virtual* James W. Foley Freedom Run, Oct. 23

The National Press Club invites all members to support the 7th Annual James W. Foley Freedom Run to raise awareness and funding for journalists' safety.

The 5k run/walk is happening virtually Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m.  Participants can pick a venue of their own to run or walk; although everyone is encouraged to do the full 5k, completing shorter distances is acceptable.

Sign up by going to the Club's race page and clicking "Register Today!" (on the lower right corner of the page for desktop, and at the bottom of the screen for mobile). Runners should sign up as fundraisers. 

 

 

If you can't or don't want to run, you can still donate through the Club's team here.

Registration is $40. That includes a T-shirt, and goes toward the Club’s goal of raising $2,500 for the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation. The foundation helps advocate for the freedom of all Americans held hostage abroad and promotes the safety of journalists worldwide.

Members can share their race photos on social media with the official #IRunForJim and #TeamPressClub hashtags.
