November buffet night at Reliable Source to feature turkey and roast beef, special guest

A turkey and roast beef buffet dinner will be featured in the National Press Club's Reliable Source restaurant on Thursday, Nov. 16, starting at 5:30 p.m.

Join fellow Club members for this month's special dinner night, and be entertained by a piano player who has been tickling the ivories at the Mayflower and St. Regis hotel bars for years -- Dan Ruskin, brother of the late political satirist Mark Russell, who will tell his entertainment life story along with the tunes. He's a Washington piano bar legend.

In the Reliable Source bar, monthly Pub Quiz nights are on tap, too.

The week before the turkey/roast beef buffet, on Thursday, Nov. 9, the popular team trivia competition gets underway at 6:30 p.m. in the Truman Lounge, where the Club's piano is located on the 14th floor.

The final scheduled Pub Quiz night of 2023 is on Thursday, Dec. 14. If you haven't participated in a Quiz night, or have but it's been a while, plan now to raise a toast and test your memory of current events -- get your game on for one or both of those evenings!

The Reliable Source is also the place to be for the Club's Friday Taco Nights, starting at 5:30 p.m. In November, there will be three Taco Nights, Nov. 3, 10 (Club open on Veterans Day observed) and 17. There will not be one on Friday, Nov. 24, because the Club will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

But the following Friday, Dec. 1, is Election Day at the Club, and in-person voting that day in the Club elections will culminate during Taco Night, when the election results will be announced and the next Club president traditionally gives a sneak peak of his or her goals for the coming Club year to those gathered in the Reliable Source.

The next President's Installation Dinner is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9, 2024, for the incoming 117th NPC president. Stay tuned for more details on that, too. It will be held in the NPC Ballroom.
