Here's the policy for attending VIP receptions at NPC luncheons

National Press Club luncheons feature an outstanding array of speakers, including such upcoming ones as Jim Rogers, CEO of Duke Energy (July 16); Gen. James Amos, commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps (Aug. 28); and actress Kathleen Turner (Sept. 6).

If you are interested in attending the VIP reception for these or other speakers, please follow the guidelines below. Note especially that VIP guests are limited to two guests, and you must accompany your guests to the reception.

The reception guidelines are:

- All members who have purchased a ticket to a NPC luncheon may attend the VIP reception prior to the luncheon. You must present your membership card and a luncheon ticket to attend.

- To attend a VIP reception, you must RSVP 48 hours before the luncheon event by e-mailing [email protected]. Please write the name of the speaker and the date of luncheon in the subject line. This e-mail will be your confirmation; you will not receive a call back or a confirmation

- You can bring no more than to two guests (non-NPC members) to each VIP reception. If you'll be bringing a guest, you must e-mail the name and title of the guest to [email protected]. You must accompany guests to the reception.

- If you'd like to bring more than two guest to a reception, you may request a waiver that would allow you to bring up to six guests. (You're limited to one waiver per year.) The request must be sent in writing to [email protected] and will be reviewed by the NPC President. Written confirmation will be provided for guest waivers only; you must present the confirmation letter at the door of the VIP reception before your guests will be allowed to enter.
