Clooney movie event time moves to May 3 at 7:30 p.m. following membership meeting

Due to the National Press Club General Membership Meeting scheduled for Thursday, May 3 at 6 p.m., the NPC Events Committee is pushing back the start time of its Dinner & a Movie event featuring the Oscar-nominated film "The Descendants" starring George Clooney to 7:30 p.m. to allow members the opportunity to enjoy the movie after the meeting.

Dinner & a Movie events take place in the NPC's Reliable Source's McClendon Room.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the Reliable Source. Member and their guests may attend free of charge.

Clooney's most recent film, "The Descendants," is a complete departure from his celebrity and activist life, and his portrayal of a grieving husband has been called one of his best performances by critics. Directed by Alexander Payne, Clooney plays Matt King, a Hawaiian land baron who takes his daughters on a trip from Oahu to Kauai to confront the young real estate broker who was having an affair with his wife before a boating accident.
