Project leader, South African science minister to discuss building of giant telescope at June 20 Newsmaker

Dr. Bernie Fanaroff, former aide to South African President Nelson Mandela, and South African Minister of Science and Technology Derek Hanekom will discuss the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) project at a Newsmakers news conference at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 20 in the club's Bloomberg Room. The project will build the largest radio telescope ever, taking scientists closer to the instant of the "Big Bang" than previously thought possible.
