Whether you’re new to freelancing or an old hand at handling the financial aspects of freelancing, this year’s Fall Freelance Workshop has tips for you. A panel of experts will offer advice on contracts and setting rates.

The workshop, co-sponsored by the National Press Club's Freelance Committee and the Washington, D.C. chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8.

Ann Hoffman is an attorney and vice president of the National Writer's Union (NWU). She will speak about NWU’s template contract and how freelancers can take action when they are not paid for their work.

James K. Sullivan is president and CEO of Association Counsel, a professional services firm focused on nonprofit organizations and small businesses. He currently represents many small businesses and individuals on a variety of legal issues, including contract negotiation and the protection of intellectual property.

Hannes Luth co-founded Wunderbar Media to combine his 12 years of experience in and passion for the media with his Masters of Business Administration to help freelancers, entrepreneurs and small businesses thrive and grow in the media world. He will talk about how to set rates.
