For job search or career help, save May 18 to attend the National Press Club Journalism Institute’s Journalism Boot Camp. Get tips from the experts on using Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and schedule a check-up with the “resume doctor.”
The all-day workshop is devoted to helping you find your next job or helping you do the one you have better. It will include sessions on resumes, social media and data-powered reporting. Bloomberg editor Jodi Schneider, a veteran recruiter and trainer of journalists, will offer resume advice* and a trainer from Google’s Politics & Elections team will show you how to push your stories and learn the latest research techniques. CNN’s Eric Weisbrod will be here to show you how to use Facebook to gather stories and build your brand.
Registration fee of $25 for NPC members and $50 for non-members includes a full-day of training as well as breakfast and lunch. Click here to sign up.
*If you would like a one-on-one resume analysis, send a copy of your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than May 15.
