Get your tickets ahead of Tuesday's NPC Spelling Bee; also available at the door

Be sure to secure your tickets ahead next Tuesday’s always amusing National Pres Club Spelling Bee. The Bee will match up the Press vs. Politicians in a friendly competition to become the Club’s new Spelling Bee champ. Last year’s winner Art Swift (Gallup) will begin the show by challenging the 2017 Scripps National Spelling Bee champ Ananya Vinay to a one-on-one spelling match.

The first such Spelling Bee was held in 1913, with newly elected President Woodrow Wilson in the audience for the inaugural showdown. The Press vs. Politicians Spelling Bee was reinstituted on its 100th anniversary in 2013; be there this year to become a part of this Washington tradition.

This year's event will include a raffle with prizes from the Willard InterContinental Washington, the Dish & Dram bistro, Town Hall, Pi Pizzeria, Del Frisco's Grille, honeygrow restaurant and more. The raffle will also include a special prize: a Nickelback album signed by Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse.

Tickets can be purchased by clicking here. Member tickets are $15 and general admission is $25. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the Bee will start at 7:15 p.m.

Proceeds support the activities of the Club’s nonprofit Journalism Institute, which defends press freedom worldwide, provides training for news professionals, and scholarships for the next generation of journalists.
