Join The Harkin Institute for Public Policy & Citizen Engagement and Senator Tom Harkin (retired) at the National Press Club on June 12 at 9:30am for the release of the latest Harkin on Wellness (HOW) Report. The 2019 Harkin on Wellness Report highlights initiatives across the country that have found ways to successfully promote healthy and nutritious lifestyles while promoting conscientious consumption and sustainability.

WHAT:
Dr. Bill Dietz, a renowned expert on prevention and public health and co-author of the recent report, The Global Syndemic of Obesity, Undernutrition and Climate Change, the Lancet Report, will highlight the need to address the current obesity, malnutrition, and environmental crises using a systems-based approach. Representatives from two organizations that received the 2019 Harkin on Wellness designation will also speak about their innovative work and how they are working to transform the local & regional food system.
