Scholarships
Scholarship for Journalism Diversity
The National Press Club, the leading professional organization for journalists, wants to recruit promising future journalists who will bring diversity to American journalism. The scholarship consists of a $2,000 one-year scholarship, which can be renewed for up to three years at $2,500 per year. Feldman Fellowship for Graduate Studies in Journalism
The National Press Club, a 100-year-old organization of reporters and newsmakers in Washington, D.C., is proud to offer a fellowship for graduate students in journalism. The fellowship is named for Dennis Feldman, a club member who had a long career as a journalist and public relations adviser after putting himself through grad school at night. Winners will receive a one-time stipend of $5,000 to help defray post-graduate tuition costs. Click here for more information and to download an application.
Richard G. Zimmerman Journalism Scholarship
The National Press Club is pleased to announce that the late Richard G. Zimmerman, a member of long standing, has endowed a significant scholarship in aid of high school seniors who wish to pursue a career in journalism. Internships
Internships at The National Press Club Archives
Archival Internship
Responsibilities: Arrangement, description and preservation of archival and/or manuscript collections. Respond to research/reference requests.
Benefits: Gain practical skills and experience in a small, privately run institutional archive, enhance your resume.
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled as a graduate student in library science and/or archives management.
- Limited to students who will receive academic credit for the internship. (This is an unpaid internship).
- Must be available to intern a minimum of 16 hours per week.
- Strong interest in journalism and journalism/media history.
- Previous experience and/or coursework in journalism and American history a plus.
Internships are available all year round.

Exhibits Internship
Responsibilities: Research, organize, script and mount exhibits on history of journalism/media and the National Press Club.
Benefits: Gain practical skills and experience in exhibit research/development in an archival setting, enhance your resume.
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled as undergraduate (junior/senior year) or graduate student in American history, public history, museum studies.
- Limited to students who will receive academic credit for the internship. (This is an unpaid internship).
- Must be available to intern a minimum of 16 hours per week.
- Strong interest in journalism, journalism/media history and/or American history.
