Family of detained journalist Austin Tice criticizes lack of effort to secure release
The parents and siblings of imprisoned journalist Austin Tice appealed for stronger efforts to end his 12 years in captivity at a Friday, Dec. 6, press conference held at the National Press Club. Mike Balsamo, national law enforcement editor for The Associated Press, was elected on Dec. 6 as the 118th president of the National Press Club. Balsamo ran unopposed and received 238 votes. Cautious optmism that Syrian turmoil will lead to Austin Tice's release
Hopes for Austin Tice returning home after being detained in Syria for more than 12 years are increasing after the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime over the weekend. Wednesday's Vivian Awards ceremony to recognize Club volunteers
Volunteers will be recognized for their service to the Club at the annual V/ivian Awards ceremony, scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Register online to attend.
