The National Press Club has chosen Catherine Deborah (CD) Davidson-Hiers as the recipient of its 2025 Shirley & Dennis Feldman Fellowship. The award for graduate students is a one-time scholarship of $5,000. Davidson-Hiers is an environmental journalist and graduate student at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The judges were impressed by her important work as a freelance journalist and former education reporter at the Tallahassee Democrat, in addition to her commitment to mentoring young writers. Stress management experts lead Communicators' Lunch & Learn
After five years of only virtual programming, the Club's Communicators' Lunch & Learn series returned in a hybrid online and in-person format in the McClendon Room on June 10, focusing on science-based strategies for managing stress. Join Melanie Ierardi, NPC's Broadcast Operations Assistant Manager, for a tour of the Club’s Broadcast Operations Center (BOC) at 4 p.m. Friday, June 27. Members go behind-the-scenes to see the magic that the BOC staff performs for National Press Club events as well as satellite media tours, media training, webcasting, and TV and video production. The facility features two studios, two post-production suites, and transmission services via satellite, fiber or IP.
The studio and its services are available to the public, but this tour is for Club members only. Upon arrival, please gather in the 13th floor lobby where Melanie will connect with the group to begin the tour. Attendee space is limited, so be sure to secure your spot!
