Thursday, June 26, 11am Zenger Room

An international election monitoring delegation composed of former senior U.S. government officials and national security experts will hold a press conference on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Eastern Time) at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

The International Election Monitoring Team (IEMT) observed South Korea’s June 3, 2025 presidential election through field visits, stakeholder interviews, and review of election data and procedures. The delegation includes:

 • Ambassador Morse H. Tan, former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice

 • Col. John R. Mills (Ret.), Committee on the Present Danger: China

 • Dr. Bradley A. Thayer, Committee on the Present Danger: China

 • Col. Grant Newsham (Ret.), Author, Asia-Pacific security analyst

The press conference will present the delegation’s key findings regarding election integrity, including:

 • Significant statistical disparities between early and same-day voting

 • Concerns about the security and transparency of electronic vote-counting systems

 • Irregularities in ballot handling and chain of custody

 • Obstruction of lawful citizen-led election monitoring efforts

 • Testimonies from Korean voters and observers indicating systemic issues

The event will also include remarks from South Korean civil society leaders engaged in domestic election monitoring.

All members of the press are welcome. Consecutive interpretation (Korean-English) will be provided. Interview requests with delegation members or Korean participants may be arranged.
