WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 – Following is a statement from Emily Wilkins, president of the National Press Club, on the reported death of Ukranian journalist Victoria Roshchyna, who was detained in Russia. “We are saddened to hear of the tragic death of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchyna, while being detained by Russia authorities. National Press Club member Natalie Jacobsen will discuss her new novel, "Ghost Train", at a member author event in the Cosgrove Lounge on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. "Ghost Train," Jacobsen’s debut novel, is historical fiction based in Meiji Era-Japan. Set in 1877 Kyoto, "Ghost Train" tells the story of Maru Hosokawa, a samurai daughter whose life changes when her father gives up his samurai sword. The run is a fundraiser for the Austin Tice fund and part of an ongoing campaign to raise awareness. Register for the race today!
