Anticipation continues to build for the National Press Club's Big Blue co-ed softball team's success on the field Saturday, July 16, as it makes its 13th consecutive playoffs appearance in league play. Much better weather is forecast for the coming weekend than for last weekend's championship play, which was totally rained out. Big Blue, the #6 seed in the Metropolitan Media Softball League playoffs round, will see its first pitch at 9 a.m. Saturday. Washington food and travel photographer Jennifer Chase will help participants shoot food photos that better capture colors, textures, angles and backgrounds. The Club kitchen will prepare a few sample dishes for participants to practice their newly honed skills. After the talk, participants will enjoy a three-course dinner from the Club's kitchen. Press Club Big Blue softball team ends playoffs run with loss to Washington Post
The National Press Club's Big Blue co-ed softball team played three games Saturday, July 16, in its playoffs appearance in the Metropolitan Media Softball League championship series. Losing that third game, to the overall #1 tournament seed, which avoided having to play a game during the first time slot in the schedule, meant the end of the team's run for the 2022 season.
