National Press Club members are invited to join the Photography Team's annual holiday party beginning at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 10, in the Cosgrove Lounge. Registration is required. Each year, the Photo Team's holiday party features a photo show-and-tell, where participants send in a digital image they've taken on a holiday-related theme to display and tell the story behind the photo. Do you have video editing skills? And would you like to make a contribution to the Press Club? If so, the Broadcast Podcast Team has an opportunity for you. There could be a video version of the NPC's official podcast, Update-1, to go along with the existing audio version . But for this to happen, video editors are needed. National Press Club members and their guests are invited to dine at the Reliable Source's Annual Holiday Buffet and Jazz Night beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. The event features the return of the Greater U Street Jazz Collective, a group that regularly performs at Reliable Source Jazz Night gatherings. Wednesday's Vivian Awards ceremony to recognize Club volunteers
Volunteers will be recognized for their service to the Club at the annual V/ivian Awards ceremony, scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Register online to attend. The presentation will take place in the First Amendment Lounge and is open to members involved with one of the Club's 16 teams. Owls' next hoot is a magical Friday dinner
A pair of magicians will entertain the National Press Club’s Owls during the cocktail hour preceding their hoot on Friday, Dec. 13, a periodic dinner celebration of the Club’s longest-tenured members. One of the magicians, Danny Selnick, is becoming an Owl this year. The other is Dwight Redman, who specializes in close-up illusions.
