Summer intern team attends Democratic National Convention
A group of interns who worked out of the National Press Club for Weiner Public News concluded their summer by attending the Democratic National Convention and helping with media relations efforts at the event in Chicago. Led by Robert Weiner and senior editor Patricia Berg, the team of summer interns included Jonathan Person, Ashleigh Fields, Olivia Ardito, Kailynn Bannon, Catherine Walker and Tomas Alves. Watch the vice presidential debate at the Club, Tuesday
The National Press Club will hold a watch party for the debate between vice presidential candidates Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance on Tuesday, Oct. 1, starting at 9 p.m. Club members and guests can watch the debate on a wide plasma screen in the Truman Lounge and in the adjacent Reliable Source restaurant, by the fireplace. The restaurant will be open until 9:45 p.m., serving dinner and bar snacks.

Unexpired seat on Board of Governors becomes available
Steve Reilly, a candidate for Membership Secretary of the National Press Club, has submitted his resignation effective Jan. 17, 2025, from his unexpired term (1 year) on the Board of Governors, in accordance with the Club's bylaws. This creates an additional vacancy on the Board of Governors. Journalist members wishing to run for the seat will need to submit a Candidate Agreement Form to [email protected].
