Books & Brunch to discuss "The Wager" by David Grann on Sept. 21

The Books & Brunch group will meet virtually at noon, Saturday, Sept. 21 to discuss "The Wager:  A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder" by David Grann.

In "The Wager," Grann pieces together the disparate accounts of two sets of castaways from the HMS Wager, a British man-of-war sent off from 18th century England in pursuit of a Spanish galleon filled with treasure. When the ship wrecks off the coast of Patagonia, some crew land in Chile while the others land in Brazil. And they each have a different tale to tell about what happened off Cape Horn.

To receive a Zoom link, please email Fay Iudicello at [email protected] by Thursday, Sept. 19. Those who RSVP should expect to receive the invitation at 9 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Planning ahead? The group will discuss "The Fraud" by Zadie Smith as its next fiction read at noon on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024, via Zoom.
