Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa, the Kuwaiti clinical psychologist and creator of THE 99, the first group of comic superheroes born of an Islamic archetype, will screen highlights from a new animated series based on the THE 99 and discuss why making it available in the United States is proving to be the greatest challenge of all. Dr. Al-Mutawa is also the subject of WHAM! BAM! ISLAM!, an upcoming Independent Lens documentary schedule to air on PBS on October 13.
