Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., will speak at the National Press Club on Jan. 12.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., will speak at the National Press Club on Jan. 12.

Warren is expected to address the direction of the Democratic Party following the 2024 election. Democrats have focused recently on affordability issues, including the high costs for housing and healthcare, and on efforts to broaden voter engagement ahead of mid-term elections.

"The economy is rigged against hardworking Americans. We have to fix it," Warren wrote last month on X. "Democrats need to be clear on the kinds of investments that we want to make, how we’ll build them, and really fight for them. That’s what the American people want and deserve."

Following prepared remarks, Warren will participate in a moderated question-and-answer session with Club President-elect Mark Schoeff Jr.
