Senator Elizabeth Warren will address the future of the Democratic Party and what it means to be a big tent party at a National Press Club Headliners Newsmaker on Monday, January 12th, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.

Despite President Trump’s promise of a “golden age of America,” unemployment continues to rise and nearly half of Americans believe their financial security is getting worse. Warren sees this as a dangerous moment for Americans and the world, where working families are being crushed and threats to democratic values are under threat worldwide. After losing in 2024, Democrats are working to earn back the trust of voters in 2026 and beyond.

Warren will share her blueprint for a Democratic Party with a coalition big enough to win elections and strong enough to stand up to the rich and powerful and deliver for working people.

This Headliners Newsmaker event is open to credentialed media and Club members. To submit questions in advance for the speaker, put WARREN on the subject line and email to [email protected].

Elizabeth Warren is a fearless consumer advocate and the senior senator from Massachusetts.

Senator Warren currently serves as the top Democrat on the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs. She is one of the nation’s leading progressive voices, fighting for big structural change to transform our economy and rebuild the middle class.

In her 13 years in the United States Senate, Senator Warren has used her platform to hold some of the nation’s largest corporations and most powerful government agencies accountable for waste, fraud, and abuse. She is widely credited for the original thinking, political courage, and relentless persistence that led to the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which has protected consumers from financial tricks and traps often hidden in mortgages, credit cards and other financial products.

As a law professor for more than 30 years, Warren taught courses on commercial law, contracts, and bankruptcy, and has written more than a hundred articles and eleven books, including four national best-sellers, This Fight Is Our Fight, A Fighting Chance, The Two-Income Trap, and All Your Worth.

Warren is a graduate of University of Houston and Rutgers School of Law. She and her husband Bruce Mann have been married for over 40 years and live in Cambridge, Massachusetts with their golden retriever, Bailey. They have three grandchildren.
