Did the National Press Club play a major role in resolving the Cuban Missile Crisis? Find out Oct. 17 when the Club’s History and Heritage team presents a conversation with author Steve Usdin, whose book “Bureau of Spies” recounts the story.

From information hidden until the Soviet archives opened following the collapse of the Soviet Union, learn why Club bartender John Prokoff has been called “the bartender who saved the world.” And, how former Club President Frank Holeman became a back-channel conduit between the Kennedy administration and Soviet intelligence.
