Join the History and Heritage Team on Friday, Oct. 17 at 4:00 p.m. in the Fourth Estate Room for a conversation with Club historian, Gil Klein, and author Steve Usdin.
Based on information uncovered from Soviet archives opened after the fall of the Soviet Union, Usdin will share how Club bartender John Prokoff earned the moniker “the bartender who saved the world,” and how former Club President Frank Holeman served as a secret backchannel between the Kennedy administration and the Soviet embassy - contributions long hidden from public view.
Following the conversation, attendees are welcome to head to the Reliable Source for a self-funded Taco Night.
