Travel back in time to meet George Washington during a magical morning for the whole family at the National Press Club. On Saturday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m., the NPC’s Book and Author Committee will present a family-friendly Book Rap with Deborah Kalb, author of `The President and Me: George Washington and The Magic Hat.' Diversity and inclusiveness goals for next 100 years of National Park Service
The National Park Service, in response to allegations of long-standing abuse, now has 'zero tolerance' toward sexual harassment and is establishing an anonymous hotline to protect employees who come forward as whistleblowers, agency Director Jonathan Jarvis said at a National Press Club luncheon Aug. 1. Entries are now being accepted for this year's National Press Club Members' Photography Exhibit in the membership office on the 13th floor. The period for submitting entries runs from Monday, Aug. 1 to Friday, Aug. 12. Because exhibit space is limited, we give preference to photos delivered during the acceptance period. Reporting the War from Baghdad
In his first Washington speech since his return from Baghdad, Peter Arnett discussed his reporting from Iraq during the Persian Gulf war. Mr. Arnett was the only American reporter allowed by the Iraqi government to remain in Baghdad after the beginning of the Persian Gulf war in January, 1991, and was asked to leave after the cease-fire was announced by the U.S. government.
