Dr. Aulakh, a research scientist in the field of DNA, spoke at the National Press Club on the discrimination against Sikhs in India. Dr. Aulakh is president of the Council of Khalistan, a part of India formerly known as Punjab whose population is made up mainly of Sikhs. Khalistan seeks independence from India and the Indian government policies that affect its population. Now that the Truman Lounge at the National Press Club has received a face lift, the bookshelves are open and waiting for us to stock with some books. If you're a Club member and author, please drop by or mail us a copy of your book to include on the shelves. Not all books will be displayed but it'll be good to have a variety for members to peruse. Of course, members may borrow said books as well, so there's no guarantee all the books will remain. But even offering some might be a fun way to show off the great work by our Club members.
