Sherrilyn Ifill, president of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and Anthony Thompson, director of the Center on Race, Inequality and the Law at NYU, will appear together at a National Press Club Headliners Book Event at 6:30 p.m. on March 6. They co-authored the book “A Perilous Path: Talking Race, Inequality, and the Law” with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and author and death penalty lawyer Bryan Stenson. Free magic show, an NPC tradition, on April 16
For decades, members of the Society of American Magicians Assembly 23 have met and practiced monthly at the National Press Club. Their way of repaying the favor is to offer a free magic show to Club members and guests. SAM members also regularly perform at Club inauguration events and the December holiday party. Having made more than $750 million at the box office, the movie “Black Panther” represents a “seminal change” in the industry, said a novelist who wrote a book featuring the Marvel hero. Jesse J. The American Hospital Association held a news conference in the National Press Club to discuss alternative proposals for reducing the high cost of health care on patients and businesses. The strategy determined by the American Hospital Association, the goal of which was to provide access to health care to all Americans, included input from all members of society including businesses and individuals. The flexible plan mandates universal health care coverage for all Americans, plans for holding down health care costs, and broad distribution of guidelines to ensure the quality of health care.
