Friday is final 2017 port of call for NPC Lobster Night
The Fourth Estate restaurant will host its final Lobster Night of the year on Friday. A steamed 1½-pound Maine Lobster with a glass of wine or beer, cole slaw (or salad), a choice of French fries or oven-crisped new potatoes and dessert is $50, with a 15 percent discount for members. National Press Club Photo Team member Janet Philips will speak to a team luncheon Wednesday, Nov. 15, at noon in the McClendon Room. Phillips, who recently retired after nearly 30 years as photo archivist at the White House, will speak about her personal experiences serving under six Presidents, from Ronald Reagan through Donald Trump. Peter Blank, 63, long-time editor of the Kiplinger Tax Letter and a Silver Owl member of the National Press Club, died Nov. 7 after a long battle with cancer. Peter’s wife, Georgeann, reports that Peter died peacefully at home, with her and their daughter, Elizabeth, at his side. Beyond his journalistic accomplishments, Peter was well known for his athleticism around the Club.
