Anthony Bourdain, the late host of CNN’s “Parts Unknown” and Travel Channel’s “No Reservations,” launched the publication of the "Les Halles Cookbook"--named for the New York Bistro--at a dinner at the National Press Club in 2004, an early cookbook/wine dinner in the Fourth Estate restaurant. Delta Air Lines CEO praises Trump on trade
The chief executive officer of Delta Air Lines, Ed Bastian, praised the Trump administration for helping his industry in its dispute with Middle East air carriers and said at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon that the trade concerns of other U.S. industries should also be addressed. Moynihan, member of the Senate Foreign Relations committee, addressed the National Press Club on a coherent U.S. foreign policy for the post-Cold War world, which included three conditions for a U.S. foreign policy: solvency, economic stability, and openness. Judges needed to award National Press Club scholarships, July 21
The National Press Club Scholarship Team has a second session scheduled for Club member volunteers to select the 2018 scholarship winners. Starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, through mid-afternoon, volunteers will judge entries to decide who will win this year’s Zimmerman scholarship -- $5,000 for an incoming college freshman who plans to become a journalist. Member volunteers have already selected winners for the Feldman and Diversity scholarships, and winners will be announced at the Club’s awards dinner on August 30.
