Astronaut Michael Collins guest at special Kalb Report, April 15
Michael Collins, one of the three astronauts on the mission to land a man on the moon 50 years ago, will be Marvin Kalb’s guest on a special edition of The Kalb Report Monday, April 15, at 7 p.m. in the National Press Club Ballroom. Collins flew the space capsule around the moon as Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the surface for “one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind” and then reconnected with the capsule to return safely to Earth. Time is now to have your funny writing recognized by the National Press Club
The deadline is approaching fast, so get those entries in. The Angele Gingras Humor Award is aimed at those with a talent for humorous writing for newspapers and news websites. The award, one of many in the National Press Club's annual journalism contest, is named for a longtime Club member who had a talent for humor writing. The award is given for work from 2018. House and Bar Team to meet April 15; seeks new members
The National Press Club's House and Bar Team will next meet Monday, April 15, at noon in the John Cosgrove Memorial Lounge. Please note this is one week later than the usual meeting date on the second Monday of the month.
