Future of the Arts in a Downsized World
Ms. Sills, a former opera singer, spoke about the role of the arts in an era of government and corporate downsizing. She emphasized that the artistic community will always struggle to find talent, money and an audience, but that it will succeed as long as there are people and institutions who believe art is an integral part of the human experience. After her prepared remarks, she took questions from the audience.
