Obesity Treatment Guidelines
Dr. Koop released new guidelines for the medical treatment of obesity which were developed by Shape Up America and the American Obesity Association. He outlined the dimensions of the obesity problem in the U.S. population and how physicians can begin to treat obese persons. He and several obesity experts also took questions from the audience.

The National Press Club's Young Members Committee is hosting a networking happy hour for reporters and communicators to get to know each other and to learn how the club can help strengthen relationships between hacks and flacks. On Tuesday, July 21, please join us for cocktails and light fare from 6:30 to 8:30 in the First Amendment Lounge if you are a reporter or a communicator. Please note: Tickets are $5 for members and $10 for non-members and can be purchased via Eventbrite.
