National Press Club’s Board votes to extend temporary suspension of in-person services through May 16
The Board of Governors of the National Press Club (NPC) voted Monday evening to extend the temporary suspension of in-person Club services through at least May 16. The NPC Board’s initial March 16 decision to suspend operations was a first in the Club’s 113-year history and came after the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) issued new guidelines concerning in-person social gatherings. The National Press Club is encouraging everyone who supports press freedom to order take out on Wednesday, April 29, from restaurants that intend to participate in Night Out for Austin Tice later in the year. Night Out was slated for April 29 but had to be rescheduled to July 14 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
