New Unionism
Mr. Chase talked about the future of labor unions. He talked about the broad outlines of "new unionism" and its tenets of teachers taking personal responsibility for the welfare of their teachers, taking risks and a new approach to cooperating with management. Mr. Simon also talked about the new approaches unions seek to employ. Mr. Chase also answered questions from the audience, as did Mr. Cameron.

In the location class we will start by discussing what location-based tools such as Foursquare, Gowalla and Facebook Places are and how they work. We will then look at how they can be used to gather information, identify sources, and promote yourself or your organization. The class will last one hour. Herb Keinon, Diplomatic Correspondent for the Jerusalem Post, will speak on November 8 at 6:30pm in the Zenger room, with reception to follow. Herb Keinon has been at the Jerusalem Post for the last 20 years. He is responsible for covering the prime minister and the foreign minister, and often travels with the Prime Minister on his trips abroad. Keinon appears frequently on a variety of radio and television programs in the US, Canada, and Europe as a guest commentator on the situation in Israel.
