Four members of an all-party delegation from India will speak at a National Press Club Newsmakers event on Wednesday, June 4 at 3:00 p.m. on Operation Sindoor, regional security and India’s diplomatic outreach to the United States. The speakers—Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Mr. Milind Deora and Mr. Tejasvi Surya—represent a cross-section of Indian political leadership. National Press Club welcomes new members at reception Friday
New members of the National Press Club are invited to a reception on Friday, June 6, at 6 p.m. in the Fourth Estate Room. Register to attend here. The National Press Club selected Sonja Woerner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as the recipient of its 2025 Richard G. Zimmerman Journalism Scholarship. The $5,000 award is given to an exceptional high school senior who plans to pursue a career in journalism. Woerner, a senior at Kennedy High School, impressed the judges with stellar work at her school’s newspaper, The Torch, where she serves as editor-in-chief. The session expects to explore seven domains of integrative health, focusing on creating calm and community in your workday. Award-winning voice specialist Cathy Runnels, founder of Accent On Speech, plans to join Sternberg to demonstrate practical breathing techniques for stress regulation, well-being and vocal health. Participants learn methods to regulate their stress response, improving focus and productivity in workplaces like high-pressure media environments. The Club's Communicators Team plans to host a "Lunch and Learn" session on Tuesday, June 10 from noon to 2 p.m., in the Reliable Source's McClendon Room with mind-body science pioneer Dr. Esther Sternberg, a communicator member, on managing stress and transforming it into productivity.

Learn about a newly discovered letter written by Founding Father George Mason at a Headliners Coffee & Conversation June 10 at 9:30 a.m. with Nick Gentry, the graduate student who found the letter, and Dr. Kate Steir, the senior curator and head of collections at Gunston Hall, Mason's Virginia home.
