Club raises dues $1 per month for most members
National Press Club dues will rise $1 per month next year for most Club members. The Club’s Board of Governors approved at its Oct. 21 meeting the $12 increase in annual dues for 2025. The board acted after an informal vote was taken at the Oct. 18 General Membership Meeting. There was no quorum at the GMM, so the vote was a sense of the membership. William Kresse is a professor of auditing and fraud examination at Governors State University, a commissioner on the Chicago Board of Elections, and the founder and president of the Institute of Election Auditors. He is an attorney, a CPA, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a member of the American Bar Association Task Force for American Democracy Advisory Commission, a Special Advisor to the ABA Standing Committee on Election Law, and an Advisor to the Uniform Law Commission Committee on Election Law. He is a recipient of the ABA’s Unsung Heroes of Democracy Award.
Dick Riley, PhD, CPA, Certified in Financial Forensics, a Certified Fraud Examiner and a Certified Valuation Analyst, is the Louis F. Tanner Distinguished Professor of Public Accounting at West Virginia University and is nationally recognized for his contributions in forensic accounting and fraud examination. He has written six books, published 46 research papers and has received numerous awards. He also developed and implemented fraud and forensic accounting education programs for the U.S. National Institute of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service. Riley is a local election volunteer.
