Families of Americans captured by Hamas urge accelerated negotiations
The families of the seven Americans who were captured by Hamas, Oct. 7, 2023, and held in Gaza urged President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accelerate negotiations with Hamas and compromise to free their relatives. They spoke at the National Press Club on Sept. 18. NPC member plans to discuss debut historical novel Oct. 29
National Press Club member Natalie Jacobsen plans to discuss her new novel, Ghost Train, at a member author event in the Cosgrove Lounge on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. The event is free but reservations are required. Ghost Train, Jacobsen’s debut novel, is historical fiction based in Meiji Era-Japan. Set in 1877 Kyoto, Ghost Train tells the story of Maru Hosokawa, a samurai daughter whose life changes when her father gives up his samurai sword.
