Summer intern team attends Democratic National Convention
A group of interns who worked out of the National Press Club for Weiner Public News concluded their summer by attending the Democratic National Convention and helping with media relations efforts at the event in Chicago. Led by Robert Weiner and senior editor Patricia Berg, the team of summer interns included Jonathan Person, Ashleigh Fields, Olivia Ardito, Kailynn Bannon, Catherine Walker and Tomas Alves. The National Press Club will hold a watch party for the debate between vice presidential candidates Democrat Tim Walz and Republican JD Vance on Tuesday, Oct. 1, starting at 9 p.m. Club members and guests can watch the debate on a wide plasma screen in the Truman Lounge and in the adjacent Reliable Source restaurant, by the fireplace. The restaurant will be open until 9:45 p.m., serving dinner and bar snacks.
