Tyler Pager is a White House correspondent at The New York Times. He previously covered the White House at The Washington Post, where he won the 2022 Gerald R. Ford Journalism Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency. He graduated as the valedictorian from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and with distinction from the University of Oxford, where he earned a master’s degree in comparative social policy. He lives in Washington, D.C.

Press Freedom Center Calls For Release of Palestinian Journalist Ali al-Samoudi
WASHINGTON, July 15 – The Press Freedom Center at the National Press Club today called for the release of well-known Palestinian journalist Ali al-Samoudi from Megiddo Prison in Israel. Samoudi, 58, is being held on military administrative detention, which was recently extended by six months. There was no evidence presented against him following charges of supporting a terrorist organization. Samoudi is one of the highest profile Palestinian journalists working in the West Bank.
