Long-time NPC member and artist Carol Morgan presents her photo collection and essay, about an innovative urban agriculture project in her neighborhood, at the next Photo Team meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 12:00 to 2:00 pm, in the Cosgrove Lounge. Carol recently published the photo array and commentary, called "Moments of Life in a Dead City," about Columbia Heights Green, an initiative that turned a blighted abandoned property into a working farm growing organic produce for local customers, including families in need. Club invites recently laid off journalists to Taco Night
The National Press Club is inviting recently laid off journalists to Taco Night this Friday, Feb. 2, for free drinks and food and a supportive community. Journalists, who have been let go in the last few months and who are not Club members may register online to take part in the one-time event, which begins at 5:30 p.m. The taco bar is available until about 7:30 p.m. In addition to enjoying the Club’s traditional happy hour Friday night, displaced journalists who attend will receive a 14-day pass to access the Club over the next few weeks.
