National Press Club members are invited to another lively discussion with fellow communications leaders and journalists on current topics that we all face in our function and profession. By sharing our concerns, ideas, approaches and strategies, we help each other be more effective in our roles. Alex Kershaw, resident historian with Friends of the World War II Memorial, recounted at a National Press Club American Legion Post 20 meeting Wednesday the liberation of Nazi Germany's Dachau concentration camp through the eyes of an American infantryman shocked by the horrors he witnessed. Taps in honor of World War II veterans of American Legion Post 20
Every day at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Taps sounds at the National World War I Memorial to honor America's war heroes. On Wednesday, March 6, the Daily Taps will honor the World War II veterans of American Legion Post 20 and the National Press Club. That's a long list, but it includes former NPC President John Cosgrove, who survived eight kamikaze attacks on his destroyer escort off Okinawa in 1945.
