When Journalists Must Flee: Remote Reporting and Next Steps
Join the National Press Club on World Press Freedom Day at 1 p.m. in the Fourth Estate Room for a panel on remote reporting. Journalists who have been forced to flee their countries will convey their own personal stories of how they got out and got settled in a new location. They will share what circumstances lead them to leave and what the current climate is for journalists in their home country. They will highlight the process they underwent when trying to cover what's happening in their countries.

WASHINGTON, May 4 – Following is a statement from Eileen O’Reilly president of the National Press Club. “On World Press Freedom Day, the Club released an interview with Indian journalist Rana Ayyub about the challenges she continues to have working in journalism – including harassment from the public and the government. It was my honor to conduct the interview which you can find here. In the interview, I inform Rana that the Press Club is naming her an honorary member.
