American Legion Post 20 to Host British Defense Attache
The next luncheon meeting of American Legion Post 20 will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at noon in the Cosgrove Room at the National Press Club. The guest speaker will be Rear Admiral Tim Woods of Britain's Royal Navy. Admiral Woods is Britain's Defense Attache in Washington, and he previously served as Defense Attache in Ukraine. NPC Scholarship Team needs judges for last round of 2023 applicants
The National Press Club Scholarship Team is seeking volunteers to help judge applications for the Dennis and Shirley Feldman Fellowship. Judging will be conducted virtually via Zoom over a two-hour period the morning of Saturday, April 29. Judges will review application materials the week prior to the April 29 meeting, then make selections as a group that day. The Feldman Fellowship recognizes a student or professional journalist pursuing graduate studies in journalism. Club to screen documentary about Kabul newspaper during Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, May 1
The National Press Club will host a screening of the documentary "Etilaat Roz” at 6 p.m. Monday, May 1, in the Fourth Estate. This film chronicles the collapse of the Afghanistan government and the Taliban takeover of the country from inside the office of the Etilaatroz newspaper. It tells the story of the publication and its journalists after the fall of Kabul.
