At the event, Dorfman plans to share photos and experiences from her initiative with Club members and tell how she conceived, planned, and carried out her photo documentary projects, as well as lessons she learned about elections in the U.S. and the people in communities who make elections possible. Beginning with the first caucuses and primaries in February 2020 through the Georgia runoff elections in January 2021, Dorfman traveled 24,000 miles through two dozen states and D.C. to illustrate the 2020 election cycle.
Many of the images displayed in the nonpartisan photo collection "Documenting Democracy” — rallies, door-to-door campaigning, voter registration, early and election-day voting, and vote-counting operations — were captured during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Part of the 2020 "Documenting Democracy" collection is now online, with a book and traveling exhibit being planned. Dorfman is an independent documentary photographer…

Press Club leaders criticize closing of Bangladeshi opposition newspaper
National Press Club President Eileen O’Reilly and National Press Club Journalism Institute President Gil Klein on Sunday criticized a decision last week by the Bangladeshi government to revoke the printing license of the opposition newspaper Dainik Dinkal. The government-funded Bangladesh Press Council offered "specious grounds" for its decision to close the paper less than a year before Bangladesh's national elections, the club leaders said. O'Reilly…
