Stay up to date with Leadership Connect, a database designed to find correct contact information for people and organizations. Representatives from Leadership Connect plan to demonstrate how to use the database at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the library. Photographing Elections: Documenting the 2020-2022 Election Cycles
National Press Club members can learn how photojournalist Sue Dorfman created a comprehensive visual chronicle of the 2020, 2021, and 2022 U.S. election cycles at the Photography Team's next meeting on Thursday, March 1 at 12:00 noon in the Cosgrove Lounge. The session begins with a self-funded lunch from the Reliable Source at 12:00 noon. Dorfman's talk follows at 1:00 pm, and will also be available by Zoom. MVJ Advocates For Diversifying Newsrooms By Hiring And Promoting Vets
Military Veterans in Journalism is a professional association that works to get more veterans into newsrooms. According to Census data, about seven percent of Americans have served in the Armed Forces, but only two percent of media workers have military backgrounds. And that's not MVJ's only mission. The group has launched an initiative to fight the disinformation aimed at military members and veterans by extremist groups. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro will speak Tuesday, Feb. 21, at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon. The National Press Club Fitness Center is located on the 14th Floor. The Fitness Center is a state of the art facility that houses all the essential equipment needed to provide a total body workout. The Center offers members and staff the use of free weights, Peloton, Nautilus equipment, ellipticals, treadmills, flat-screen television monitors, male & female locker-rooms with towel service.
